DAY 1
Start your trip in New Market where Jon Henry’s General Store is a haven for sock lovers everywhere! In addition to a huge variety of quirky socks, children’s toys and other one of a kind finds, Jon Henry offers a wealth of fresh veggies, seasonal pies, and other locally sourced goods. Take a stroll down North Congress Street to check out the other local shops in New Market.
Next, head to Edinburg and be sure to stop in Heritage Mill Wines 1848 at the historic Edinburg Mill to purchase a variety of wines, cheeses and gifts for wine lovers. Soak up the wine with a hearty meal just across the hall at the Edinburg Mill Restaurant offering a variety of steaks and seafood before checking into the friendly Family Farmhouse Inn.
DAY 2
Enjoy a nice breakfast at Candy’s Diner in Woodstock. This local institution offers scratch made breakfast at a steal of a price. After filling up on breakfast, visit the Woosdtock Garden Cafe for a taste of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a wide variety of gifts for the home and garden as well as other local gifts like jewelry. Spend the afternoon in historic, downtown Woodstock exploring local shops such as Travelers Treasures, Spring Hollow Antiques, Nate & Main, Three French Hens or Valley Treasures. Break lunch at the Woodstock Café which includes a shop with jewelry, accessories, kitchen accessories, art, and unique and quirky trinkets. Their menu of paninis, wraps, soups and salads is sure to re energize you for the rest of your day! After a day of shopping, enjoy dinner at The Copper Kettle at Bryce Resort and enjoy the view of the ski slope.
DAY 3
Bretzels in Strasburg offers a warm & charming atmosphere with scratch-made pastries including cupcakes, muffins, cookies, and more. Head next door to the Strasburg Emporium for a wide variety of treasures from the past then venture down King Street to Clementine Vintage to find unique gifts for the home, refurbished furniture, jewelry, and so much more. For a quick bite head to Box Office Brewery or Crabby Maggies for a delicious seafood feast just few blocks away. Feeling adventurous? Take a scenic drive through backcountry to enjoy the incredible views and stumble upon a few roadside stands on your way and take home a piece of locally grown goodness from Shenandoah County.
